Why are there cracks in the bridge?

 I. Analysis of temperature cracks in bridges

 1. External causes: sunshine; sudden cooling. 

 2. Internal reasons: The common causes of temperature cracks in construction are as follows:

 (1) Basic constraints.  Under the action of atmospheric temperature and its hydration heat temperature, the internal temperature of concrete is very large. When the concrete shrinkage due to cooling is constrained by rock foundation or old concrete cushion, large tensile stress will appear inside the concrete.  And a constrained crack occurs.  Being constrained by hard bedrock and old concrete is the main cause of severe cracks in mass concrete. 

 (2) The bedrock is not flat.  After the concrete is poured, the internal temperature is high, and the bedrock is restrained by the bedrock during the cooling process. If there is a sudden change in the surface of the bedrock, it is easy to form stress concentration and cracks at the place.

 

How to strengthen the cracks in the bridge?
