What materials should be used to reinforce the cooling tower structure?

In the past few decades of reform and opening up, China's industrial production has been greatly developed, and the demand for cooling towers is increasing. However, with the passage of time, the diseases and related defects of cooling towers are increasing. In order to improve the safety of cooling towers, It is necessary to carry out regular inspection and maintenance reinforcement of the cooling tower. Carbon fiber cloth is a new type of concrete reinforcement material which has been developed in recent years. It has the advantages of high strength, simple and quick construction, good corrosion resistance, etc., so it can be applied in the reinforcement engineering of cooling tower structure.

The reinforcement of the cooling tower structure can be roughly divided into a cooling tower herringbone column and a ring foundation reinforcement, and a cooling tower wall and a ring beam reinforcement.

The reinforcement of the cooling tower herringbone column and the ring base can be divided into five steps:

(1) Excavate the loose concrete, clean it to a solid base, and remove the rust and anti-rust treatment of the exposed steel bar;

(2) Repaired with leveling glue;

(3) Treate the cracks with MKT-SAF potting;

(4) Reinforce the carbon fiber cloth along the ring of the herringbone;

(5) All the surface of the herringbone column is brushed with concrete anti-carbonization material.

 

For cooling tower walls and ring beams, the main procedures for the reinforcement scheme are as follows:

(1) Cut out the loose concrete, clean it to a solid base, and remove the rust and anti-rust treatment of the exposed steel bar;

(2) Repair with leveling glue;

(3) Treat the cracks with MKT-SAF potting;

(4) Make full use of the characteristics of good tensile performance of carbon fiber cloth, stick carbon fiber cloth on the outside of the tube wall that does not meet the requirements, and attach the outer side of the carbon fiber cloth to the outside;

(5) The inner surface of the cylinder wall is coated with special protective materials for the cooling tower; the outer surface of the cylinder wall is painted with concrete anti-carbonization material, and the carbon fiber cloth is alternately overlapped in different sections.
