Why do we use 300 grams of carbon fiber cloth for the building reinforcement?

Jul. 25, 2018

300g carbon fiber cloth made of high-quality carbon fiber is light in weight and easy to construct; soft and freely cuttable; suitable for various shapes and components. It can also be closely bonded to reinforced concrete surface, so it is also used for tensile, shear and seismic resistance of structural members. Used together with the matching impregnating glue to form a carbon fiber composite material can form a complete and excellent 300 g carbon fiber cloth reinforcement system. It has received wide acclaim from everyone.

For the 300 g carbon fiber cloth that is usually manually pasted, the mass per unit area is g300 g/m2, and usually 300 g carbon fiber cloth is used mostly. Isn't it the thicker the manufacturing, the better the reinforcement effects?

In fact, of course not. Why should we strictly control the mass per unit area of 300 grams carbon fiber cloth? Mainly because when the fabric is too thick, the room temperature curing structural adhesive will be difficult to infiltrate and penetrate, and it is easy to seriously affect the bonding performance of the carbon fiber composite due to lack of glue inside the fiber or uneven distribution of the glue, resulting in the structure being reinforced not guaranteed. So this also confirms an old saying that things will develop in the opposite direction when they become extreme.

Nanjing Mankate 300g carbon fiber cloth is made of imported Toray carbon wire. It has high flatness, and the cutting is not scattered. It has been widely used in Nanjing Metro Line 3, Chengya Expressway, China Aerospace Building, Nanjing Gulou Hospital, Dabaoen Temple and other projects. Nanjing Mankate has strict control on the quality of 300g carbon fiber cloth. It is the manufacturer that has the same testing instruments as the testing center in the industry. If you want to visit the Mankates factory, you can test it on site in person.
